Meet owners Susie Messina & Dawn Henderson
It
all started with a dirty car. Susie and Dawn's mom met at a car wash and
became fast friends. "All I ever heard about was how great Susie was",
Dawn said. We finally met and we've been close friends ever since.
Susie and Dawn are both left handed and share many of the same interests. But it was one shared interest that led them to the opening of Home Treasures: The love of shopping! And so started a three month whirlwind tour of opening a business called Home Treasures in the Carson Valley Plaza in November of 2003. This store remained open until January of 2009 when Dawn & Susie decided to concentrate their efforts on the Gift Shop inside the Carson Valley Inn which had opened in the summer of 2008. In late 2009, the Carson Valley Inn location closed and the main store was opened in a small space the Carson Mall. In August of 2011, we moved across the Mall to our current location which is by far our largest yet.
Home Treasures continues to be Northern Nevada's boutique gift store, filled with a diverse inventory of gifts for you and your home. And with our expansion into Consignment Furnishings, we have even more to show, sell and excite!
